Kingston hits the town in style

KINGSTON is not your average baby, but then GWEN STEFANI is far from your average Mum.

A boring Mothercare pram would never do for the Hollaback Girl singer - not when a blinging gold-lined one is available instead.

And with friends like ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT's daughter SHILOH, little Kingston is bound to lead a glamorous life.

Gwen said: "Kingston and Shiloh play together. They were like two little blobs when they met. Maybe they'll get married when they grow up? That'd be cute!"

Gwen and husband GAVIN ROSSDALE welcomed Kingston into the world last May, the same month Angelina and Brad had their daughter.

Angelina and Gwen were also competing for the same role in Mr and Mrs Smith, Gwen revealed - the movie in which Brad and Angelina met each other.

She told Elle: "I don't know if I almost got it, but I certainly put a lot of effort in. They were clearly looking for a certain girl, and you couldn't get more opposite than me and Angelina.".

that GWEN STEFANI has looked great ever since giving birth to her eight-month-old son Kingston.

But I don't think many women would want to follow her gruelling programme for getting back in shape - which involves heavy exercise right up until TWO weeks before the birth.

Gwen told Elle magazine: "I worked out with my trainer throughout the whole pregnancy until about two weeks before.

"I cried during my last session. I was like: 'I can’t breathe, I can’t do this any more. What am I doing?'

"It was crazy. All of my life I’ve had to work hard to stay in shape.

"I’ve always struggled with it. I was a little chubby when I was younger and I didn’t want to be that person forever."

The former No Doubt singer - who is married to Bush frontman GAVIN ROSSDALE - added: "There aren’t any tricks, it’s simple maths - you put this much food in, you burn that much working out.

"I gave myself three months - but if I didn’t have an album coming out, there’s no way I would have got back into shape in that time.

"I worked out with my trainer five days a week, with weekends off. I would really recommend doing weights."

Some of us have days jobs, love.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have been voted the most fashionable parents in showbiz.

The Wind It Up singer and British rocker - who have an eight-month-old son Kingston - beat Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to the title, in a poll conducted by baby product brand Cosatto.

Brad and Angelina have two adopted children, Maddox, five, and two-year-old Zahara, and biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel, eight months.

Victoria and David Beckham - who have three sons, Brooklyn, seven, Romeo, four, and Cruz, almost two - came in at number three, while Madonna and Guy
Ritchie took fourth place.

Madonna and Guy are raising ten-year-old Lourdes - the singer's daughter from a previous relationship - their son together, Rocco, six, and 16-month-old Malawian baby David Banda, who they recently adopted.

Divorcees Jude Law and actress Sadie Frost, who are parents to Rafferty, 10, Iris, six, and four-year-old Rudy, rounded off the top five.

Kate Moss and publisher Jefferson Hack, who have a four-year-old daughter Lila Grace together - were polled at number six.

Cosatto spokeswoman Lisa Joyce is unsurprised that nearly all the parents in the top-ten style list are over 30.

She said: "Parents in their 30s have more life experience and have discovered their own personal style - while unfortunately the likes of Britney Spears are still desperately trying to find a look that suits them!"

Gwen Stefani is as powerful a force in the world of fashion as she is in the music world, and with good reason. To me one of the most exciting things about her has always been what she was wearing. If I was going to pick a celeb's closet to play dress up in, it would def. be hers. I'd probably never come out of it, mostly because I could never look as good in her clothes as she does. Her funky sense of style is so cutting edge and cool, with the exception of that pink hair and braces phase, but whatever; she's allowed a minor slip up. She can make a track suit look glamorous—I'm talking about those lavender numbers with the giant flowers on the front that the hoards of grannies are wearing during their morning mall walks, I guess they're more like sweat suits really, but you get the picture—and that's talent let me tell you. So when her name was recently spotted on the fur industry's "list of the soulless" we had to find out if it was true—I mean we knew it couldn't be, no one as fabulous as Gwen could be that evil. And we were right. We wrote to the L.A.M.B. queen to find out what was up and her rep shot us a reply A.S.A.P. saying, "Gwen asked me to pass along to you that she doesn't wear fur...Let me know if you have other questions or concerns." Um, yes, I have one...actually two...when is she going to clone that ultra hot husband of hers? And will she let me play in her closet? I won't take anything, I swear.

The Sweet Escape Tour presented by Verizon kicks off this April 22nd at Coors Amphitheatre in San Diego, California, and concludes on June 23rd at Irvine, California’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Joining Gwen on tour is the platinum-selling singer Akon, who also sings on and produced the new single “The Sweet Escape.” Rounding out the bill is Britsh MC Lady Sovereign.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity to tour with Akon and Lady Sovereign, two original artists that I have so much respect for” Gwen said. “I can’t wait to get out there. This show is going to be spectacular!”

GWEN STEFANI and hubby GAVIN ROSSDALE must have co-ordinated their wardrobes before going out to an oyster bar.
Singer Gwen’s stripey jacket matched her rocker hubby’s scarf as they braved gales and rain to hit trendy eaterie Scott’s in London’s Mayfair.

And they weren’t the only celebs enjoying the clam glam. At the next table I spotted MICK JAGGER with friends.

TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW was also in, treating his mum to dinner – and oddest pairing of the night was KEVIN SPACEY and JIMMY TARBUCK, chatting at a table hosted by Topshop boss Sir Philip Green.

LEE CHAPMAN and LESLIE ASH also stuck their heads around the door for a nose.

It seems Scott’s is the new Ivy for celebrity diners. GEORGE MICHAEL, GERI HALLIWELL and DANIEL CRAIG have all visited recently, too.

IT’S a braid new world for GWEN STEFANI as she gets locked up for her latest video.
The singer had her blonde hair plaited while shooting the promo for single The Sweet Escape, out on February 26.
The vid draws on the fairytale Rapunzel, about a girl trapped in a tower.
And like the story’s heroine, trapped Gwen hurls her long locks out of the window in a tress-perate bid to escape.
In the original kids’ tale, Rapunzel was imprisoned by a witch who called: “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.”
One thing’s for sure – when it comes to looking good, stylish Gwen’s hair never lets her down .

While she was pregnant – and still performing on tour – Gwen Stefani realized she wasn’t the superwoman she’d long assumed she was.

“I thought I was going to be one of those Mother Nature girls,” the singer, 37, tells Elle magazine for its February issue, about childbirth. “I figured, I’ll just squeeze it out, ’cause I’m really strong and I work out and stuff.”

Only, instead, she was surprised to find herself short of breath and not functioning at 100 percent before giving birth in May to son Kingston Rossdale.

“I would be seriously crying before I went onstage,” she recalls. “I didn’t know how I was going to get through the tour, putting on nine costume changes on a stage in front of 12,000 people every night. And I didn’t want people to know (I was pregnant). I didn’t want to become the Gwen Freak Circus Show – ‘Watch it grow onstage.’ “

But that was then. Now, “Kingston is so chill,” says the proud mom. “He goes with me everywhere, ’cause I’m still nursing. He’s been to every studio in L.A., New York, London. He lives up to his name – total Rasta boy.”

Then there are the tangible pleasures he provides. “He gives me real balance. You can go 100 miles an hour, but you still have to stop to hang out with him,” she says.

As for life with her British rocker husband Gavin Rossdale – the two split their time between houses in London and Los Angeles – Stefani admits, “Of course me and Gavin have problems, sometimes. Everyone does. We’ve been together for over 10 years.”

For instance, it was not until after they tied the knot in 2002 that she learned he was the father of an illegitimate child, who is now a teenager.

But, she also says of their relationship, “This is, like, the real deal.”

Don't feel neglected! As Adrian says there's not much going on to talk about, but you fans always make us stoked and happy and you're the reason the No Doubt is a band in a certain sense.
As for me I've been sweeping and planting and hiking and playing and loving and feeding and changing and eating and surfing and musicating and doing all sorts of things, not to mention cleaning up the birdturds on my patio, so there is an update for you. If something more interesting comes up I'll be sure to let you all know!
